On the 14th June, 2012, Tommy Godwin’s home town of Stoke-on-Trent played host to the Grand Final of the Halfords Tour Series. Read the report on a great day out here.

Tommy was born on this day, June 5th, exactly one hundred years ago. Why not take advantage of the additional bank holiday to go out on a bike ride in rememberance of Tommy and his life?
In 1939, the year of Tommy’s record-breaking ride, he rode a punishing 248 miles on his birthday. Personally, I might try to put in 48 miles today and will leave the other two-hundred for another time…

News just in: Tommy would have been 100 years old this year.
As part of the Tour of Britain series, there are plans to honour Tommy with a ‘Tommy Godwin Team Time Trial’ – starting at 3pm on June 14th.
